Trumpetsnäcka

Oct 2012 | Architecture Design Studio: Composition

The program asked for each team to build a shelter to be placed at Carnegie Mellon’s famous painted fence. We like to call our shelter trumpetsnäcka, which is Swedish for conch shell. As a group we guided our exploration of plywood and 2x4s with our combined interests in origami, hot air balloons, and rock climbing. Working together, we created a different structural method that decreased the amount materials needed.
